Don’t hesitate to step out of your comfort zone and try something new! While you’re there, try local meals.
I love small whole-in-the-wall restaurants that are typically family-owned because not only are they cheaper, but they prepare typical local dishes such as spaghetti alle vongole, fritto misto, or savor something sweet like Babá.

If you’re only in Sorrento for a day trip, book a spot at their beach club and enjoy their refreshing cocktails and fresh seafood dishes or small bits.
But if you’re staying in Sorrento for a few days, definitely don’t skip this place for dinner!
Sample some of their local specialties, such as pasta Nerano (spaghetti in a zucchini sauce), anchovies, and freshly grilled tuna, and of course, no meal would be complete without an after-dinner drink of limoncello.
Get the Kids to Make Pizza:
Cooking classes at Marco and Tano are a fun and educational way to learn about the Amalfi Coast’s cuisine.
Kids can make pizza together, choosing their toppings. Be patient; it may take a few tries!
In their cooking classes, you’ll learn how to make some of the most iconic dishes of the Amalfi Coast, such as pasta con le vongole (spaghetti with clams), pizza, and limoncello.

This iconic hotel has welcomed guests for over 150 years, and it’s easy to see why.
I was completely taken away by the views and its chic old-money aesthetics.
The hotel is on a cliff that looks out over the water and has a beautiful view of the Bay of Naples.
The rooms are nice and big, and the hotel has a spa, a swimming pool, and several bars, among other things.
I highly recommend going here for an aperitif on their balcony overlooking the bay of Sorrento if you don’t end up staying here – I’d also highly recommend Hotel Mediterraneo Sorrento for a chic modern stay!
Le Sirenuse (Positano)

If it’s your first time in Positano, get ready because this town is expensive!
And if I’m being honest, Le Sirenuse is worth every penny (and believe me, it’s not cheap!).
From the gastronomic local dishes to their poolside and beach views, Le Sirenuse is centrally located in the middle of everything, so all you need to do is sit and enjoy what Italians say, “dolce fa niente,” the sweetness of doing nothing!
This five-star hotel is perched on a cliff overlooking the beautiful town of Positano, and it’s one of the most exclusive hotels on the Amalfi Coast.
The rooms are designed in classic Italian style, with breathtaking sea views.
The hotel has a gym, a swimming pool, and several bars, among other things.
Caruso, A Belmond Hotel, Amalfi Coast (Ravello)

My first time staying here, I was blown away by this quaint village perched atop the Amalfi Coast. It’s relatively calmer and quieter than many of the coastal towns.
Hotel Caruso is a tranquil yet luxurious stay you would want to experience.
This hotel is in Ravello, a historic town with beautiful gardens and stunning views. It’s housed in a 12th-century palazzo and has spacious, luxurious rooms.
And just as a tip – you don’t need more than two or three days in Ravello.
It’s a smaller town requiring you to rent a car, take the local Sita bus, or hire private car services to get around outside the village.
Amenities include a spa, pool, and restaurants.
You will have a memorable stay no matter which hotel you choose on the Amalfi Coast.

Villa Cimbrone’s UNESCO-listed gardens are a must-see on the Amalfi Coast.

The gardens are open daily from 9 am to 6 pm, with last entry at 5:30 pm.

The Path of the Gods is a 7-kilometer trail connecting the Bomerano and Positano towns. The hike is moderately difficult, with some steep sections and exposed cliffs.
However, the trail’s views are breathtaking, and it is a truly unforgettable experience.
Along the way, you will pass through local villages and orchards, providing an immersive cultural experience.
The path is well-marked with red and white markers, making it easy to navigate. It is recommended to start in Bomerano and end in Positano, as this allows for a gradual descent rather than a steep climb.
Be sure to bring plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes, as there are no facilities along the trail.
As you make your way along the Path of the Gods, take breaks at the various viewpoints to soak in the stunning vistas of the Amalfi Coast below. You may even spot some wildlife, such as birds or goats, along the way.

I highly recommend splitting your time if you are on a day trip to Ravello start by visiting the stunning Villa Rufolo in the mountaintop town of Ravello, located about 20 minutes north above the small fishing village of Amalfi.
The Villa is known for its panoramic view overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and is nestled into the cliffs of the most picturesque town.
The fantastic scenery features plush rose bushes, ceramic Roman ponds, and citrusy lemon trees. The villa’s terraces offer panoramic coast views.

Filled with local tastes and merchandise, you’ll find plenty of shops and restaurants to explore.
Be sure to try some of the famous limoncello, a lemon liqueur that is native to the town.
Don’t forget to stop by the iconic Cathedral of Saint Andrew, a beautiful 9th-century church that overlooks the main square of Piazza Duomo.
And for an unforgettable experience, take a boat ride along the coast to see Amalfi from a different perspective.
